House of Zen reserves the right to change the classes timetable.

What should I know?

Here are a few notes so that everyone can benefit with a more enjoyable and tranquil class.

  • Please make sure to come on time for your class. If this is your first time, try to come at least 15 minutes earlier.
  • Bring your own personal mat or you may use one of ours.
  • The practice is in bare foot. Kindly place your shoes at the reception´s proper closet. There is also a changing room available.
  • For additional comfort, you can also bring a pair of slippers – especially if your class is on the rooftop.
  • During class, mobiles should be switched off or set in silent mode.
  • It is advisable to practice yoga with an empty/almost empty stomach. Avoid eating at least 2 hours before the class.
  • Please be considerate and place the mat and other props in the proper place after use.

Laura Jane
Yoga Instructor
Laura Jane is a highly dedicated, experienced and passionate yoga instructor with advanced training in Ashtanga principles. Her dance studies and acrobatic skills have influenced the vigorous yet graceful way she practices and teaches yoga. She can easily motivate and inspire people to go beyond in her classes.
Laura took various yoga teacher training and other yoga related certifications in Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan and gave yoga classes in Macau and England. Having moved to Portugal recently, she wishes to deepen her heartfelt personal joy of teaching yoga.

Cátia Pereira
Yoga Instructor
Cátia is a dedicated Hatha Yoga instructor certified in India with experience in the gym and outdoor yoga classes. In her view, yoga is a profound body and mind expression. She is also a knowledgeable and experienced massage therapist, specialised with multiple techniques, including advanced Thai massage, Ayurveda massage, reflexology, Thai herb compress and aromatherapy. All her certifications were taken in Thailand and India, capacitating her with a more traditional knowledge background and yet capable of making creative massage sequences while engaging different techniques.

Yoga Instructor
Kimma simply loves teaching Yoga! With hundreds of hours of yoga teacher training in the US and Thailand, she is an experienced instructor, teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Pre-Natal, Yin, Restorative and Yoga for children. Kimma prefers a more gentle approach to yoga, focused on proper alignment, but due to her versatile background, she can easily adapt classes to yogis looking for a more dynamic practice.
Having lived in Chiang Mai for a few years, she is also a certified traditional Thai massage therapist, able to provide both soothing and vigorous massage treatments.
