With much gratitude we have said goodbye to the beautiful yellow house in Estoril and found a new location for House of Zen in Cascais town. In our new home we will continue holding a sacred space for yoga classes, workshops and many wellness therapies.More
This is how I feel about the story of House of Zen, as I am writing it in May 2020 amid the uncertainty of the Covid-19 Pandemic and a couple of months from re-opening in Cascais town.
House of Zen started in 2016, in a beautiful yellow house, in Estoril. I really connected with that space, just 5 minutes away from the ocean, with an amazing sea view rooftop and a lovely shady garden.
Stepping out from working professionally in journalism and the media industry, I deliberately wanted to step into the world of yoga and wellness. Passionate about yoga, my intention with House of Zen was to create a yoga guesthouse as a space of tranquility to fine tune our balance. A house that welcomes everyone in a very personalized, friendly approach, where people away from home feel at home.
As I experienced, it came out more than that. I see House of Zen as my own personal growth abode. It is a meeting place of new and old friends from all over the world and walks of life. It is also where I met all the house guardians – wonderful beings that worked here every day to make sure the house and guests were well taken care of, the soulful yoga teachers, the caring therapists, and the lovely students, visitors, partners…
I must mention my yoga teachers from India, Ramaswami Srivatsa, Krishna & Sangeeta Sikhwal. Through their teachings my exploration journey in and outside of House of Zen gained a deeper meaning. A final word of gratitude to my children, all close friends and family, to this marvelous wild Atlantic Ocean, the nature and the lovely sun, that bring so much warmth into my heart.
I am very much looking forward to the magic unfolding of House of Zen’s story in Cascais town. I hope to meet and connect with you.
